Bride & Bridesmaids Kits | Oh Happy Day
Oh Happy Day is always creating amazing DIYs, and her wedding kits are no exception! Giving a kit to your Bride is a great idea, it means she’ll have all the things she needs in a pinch without someone having to ruffle through their bag or a run to the shops! And as a Bride it is always nice to give something to your Bridesmaids - and a handmade gift is even more special.
Save The Date!
As requested, I’ve searched high and low for the best save the date mailers that I can find! I’ve posted my favourite three examples from the three websites that I thought had the best options:
The Wedding Chicks
One of the best things about thefree downloads available from The Wedding Chicks is that you can customise the colours to match your theme. Plus there’s something to match anyone’s taste.
Ruffled
These pretty cards might take a bit more effort but are well worth it. I particularly love the save the date wheel!Martha Stewart Weddings
Trust Martha to come up with some very cool and unique ways to announce your wedding! I can’t pick a favourite from these three because I love them all. The scratch off card is a lot easier than it looks.
Ribbon Wands | Project Wedding
It’s very rare these days that a venue will let you use confetti. Not that I like confetti - it gets everywhereand is a sucker to clean up. You can go for the alternatives - bubbles or flower petals, but both of those are hard to clean up too (I once saw a lady stack it after slipping on some bubble soap, not pretty!) So why not make your guests some of these gorgeous ribbon wands? All you need is some dowel and a few spools of ribbon in your colours and you will walk of your wedding into a shower of pretty ribbon!
He asked and hopefully she said YES! Share your exciting news with engagement invitations. These printable invites can also be used for your rehearsal dinner, bridal shower or bachelorette party. (via Printable Template Tuesday No. 14)
Such a great way to get your guests involved!
Too cute not to reblog.
Prior to the wedding, you gather a strong wooden wine box, a bottle of wine and two glasses. Then, also before the ceremony, you both sit down separately and write love notes to each other, explaining your feelings on the eve of your wedding day. Each letter then gets sealed in its own envelope. You do not read your beau’s letter.
Then, at some point during the ceremony, your officiant explains the process, and the two of you seal the box by taking turns hammering in one nail at a time until the box is closed.
You don’t open the box until your 10th anniversary (or really whatever anniversary you choose. Either way, on the day that you open the box, you both read the letters and drink the wine, remembering how you both felt just days before your wedding day.

What you will need: - wine bottles Instructions: Step 1: Submerge wine bottles in warm soapy water until labels easily come off (this can take anywhere from 10-20 minutes). Step2: If you are having difficulty removing labels, try holding the bottles under warm water and use a hard dish brush to scrub off excess label/glue. I also find using alcohol or Goo Gone can help with this as well. Step 3: Make sure soapy water is rinsed out of bottles and let bottles dry. Step 4: Cover hard surface outside (away from anything you might damage with spray paint) and place bottles on the surface. Spray one thin, even coat of white spray paint or primer on each bottle (note, this does not have to be perfect). Make sure you are not holding the can too close to the bottle or the paint will get on too thick and start to drip. Let dry for about 15 minutes, then you can test the bottles by touching them lightly; if the paint is sticky they need more time to dry. Step 5: Repeat this step about three more times with the colors you choose. If you are having trouble getting the paint on evenly, put your finger into the bottle opening to pick it up so you can see the bottle at a better angle and spray where needed. Because you are doing several coats, it will not be completely even until your final coat. If you need to do more than three or four coats, that is fine, just make sure they are not too thick. Step 6: Pick up bottle and spray around the bottom edge so no glass is showing through. Then do a quick spray at the very top of the bottle. Leave bottles out to dry in a shaded place. Voila! You now have beautiful vases or candle holders for your centerpieces.
